New Year

The light is slowly fading on the passing of the year
Midnight arrives to Auld Lang Syne, bubbles raised in cheer
Time to reflect on what’s now past, whether tears of joy or sorrow
To look ahead at what’s in store, starting with tomorrow

Resolutions made in faith, we know some will be broken
Heart to hearts' with those who care, wise words will be spoken
Making plans for holidays or special times together
Perhaps a marriage or a new life born and hoping for good weather

Some they know there’s pain ahead, and out of their control
They know they must stay strong and cope, in life it is their role
Whatever life throws at you, whatever you may fear
Be sure you give and receive much love, this coming New Year
